First hand experience with the Toy Story dolls?
#11
Looks like there are a jillion versions now, so good luck with this. But while I remember my son having a couple of cheapy stuffed versions at one point, the $20 variety from Target, etc. seemed to be of a very good quality. Perfect for playing with and what you'd expect the real toy to be like in the movie (except for the coming to life part).

Don't spend $50.

We had several of the better made ones when the first movie came out. My kids enjoyed them rather aggressively, and they survived nicely. Since donated to the Salv Army.

IMHO, toys sold 'just to collectors' are a sign of what's wrong with the world. Much like nimrods who buy art 'as an investment' and never look at it. It's all so.. soulless.

Buy the halfway decent toy. Enjoy it. Make up whole adventures, ignite creativity and imagination. Then pass it along when you outgrow it. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Human growth is much better than 'investment growth'.

Collectors quality dolls are made for adults and rarely are even taken out of the package. That would be a huge waste on a 2 yr old.

Sounds like a huge waste, period.

I was going to respond the weapon's post, but decided not to earlier...
if you never take it out of the box, what's the point of buying it?

Whether you are a kid or a kid at heart, toys are supposed
to be played with and for my little kid, I would drop $50 for her no
probs..

Have you bought a LEGO DUPLO set lately? $$$ its highway
robbery but its for the kiddies... i say to myself... besides
i am a kid at heart and having a cool quality toy for my kid to play with
would be satisfying to me, even if she is oblivious to the high
quality or high $$$ of the toy

Most adult have no reason to play with toys. But as a collector, NIB is very important. I still have some Star Wars toys from the 70's and 80's in their original packaging. Needless to say they are worth a ton more than the ones that were opened and played with. Did I get as much joy out of them? No but I do get more joy out of the boxed ones now as I see them priced in the thousands.

nice!
i have a first edition Kenner Han Solo (skinny head) Chewie and R2 but i opened them
lots of star wars toys were kept in anticipation that my kid(s) can play with them if they got into it
i kept a lot of the back panels which the figures were sold with (for the photo, no bubble plastic part)
but i doubt if they are worth anything... i do have the bubble gum cards, the early light blue set complete except for 1 or 2 cards, and complete red set and one other set, i cant remember the color.
its funny how as a kid we collect stuff and congrats to you to have a worthwhile set of stuff to sell
or display!

Blue sears special snaggletooth is worth some bucks. $175 or so. You should package that up in better display box so the silver does not continue to get rubbed off on the toes.
