What is your favorite browser?
#21
I like Firefox and use it a lot but there are sites where I can't scroll or other problems occur which I don't have with Safari. So I use firefox for sites I have long had bookmarked and Safari for browsing on the 'net.

I'm still using Safari 5.0.5 when it gets sluggish I do a little house keeping, clearing cache, cookies history and sometimes a reset.

I have an updated copy of FireFox as a back up :priate:

You can add the 1password buttons to firefox easily. I suggest that you removed the bank from your Safari favorites (to remind you to use Firefox) and add the 1Password buttons to Firefox.

How is the bank or the website to blame? If a Mac application like Firefox can work properly, why can't Apple provide a fix for Safari?

Since I started to use clicktoflash, and up to when I turned off java altogether, It's been real easy for me to see the good and the bad designs some sites use.
It turns out that Safari is less tolerant to inefficent code that has been replaced with something better, yet corporations (big complex sites usually) refuse to adhere to.
When they do, the sites are unveiled with a boom, "Ready for the 22nd century", "browse our site with you ipad!!", and all they are doing is updating standards.
It's an old story. apple tends to do that. big corps. tend to do that. I tend to side with apple's view.

By the way, I use firefox exclusively for banking and sensitive sites. I say for security, but it probably started with malfunctioning sites.

You say, "easily," but I can't find any reference to 1 Password when I searched Firefox's add-ons.

A little help in getting 1Password set up in Firefox, please!

If I can use 1Password in Firefox it would solve a big problem. I could then follow davester's and rich in distress's suggestion to switch to Firefox for all of my online payments and account look ups.

A question about using Firefox, in Safari, at the end of a secure connection I always empty the cache. I haven't seen this function in Firefox. Is there an equivalent or is it unnecessary?

Thanks for your help to work out a solution. Smile

GeneL - Does this link help?
https://agilebits.com/extensions/mac/index.html

I have 1Password extensions for Safari, Firefox, and Chrome. I can't seem to settle on one, but I use Chrome 99% of the time.

Thanks CJsNvrUrly for the link and to everyone who pointed me in the direction of using 1Password with Firefox to "cure" the unresponsive buttons issue.

It appears that Firefox will do the trick for me. Yay! X(
