another bully: susan komen foundation
#1
i found this very disturbing.

“Susan Komen would not give in to bullies or to fear,” Judy Blume, the children’s book author, said in a Twitter post. “Too bad the foundation bearing her name did.”

Looks like the $600K grant money has been made up already. $400K in donations came in to PP yesterday, and Mayor Bloomberg said he would give $250K to make up the difference.

The part about Komen hiring Karen Handel is the worst part of this, and doesn't bode well for future decisions that group will make.

In a way, I'm kinda liking how this worked out. As disagreeable as this decision is; Korem should have the right to collect money as they please and distribute it as they please. The backdoor method is really crappy, but it's their right.

but by being such jerks about it, they really ended up benefiting PP. And in so doing, opened the eyes OF MANY that PP really, truly is NOT just an abortion factory.

i'm not down with a team of lawyers going after anyone who uses Cure in their name.

that's just silly and a waste of money that could be spent on research or treatment.
