Eventually sufficient states in the Republic will present this position, and the Federal strictures against it will find themselves legislated away.

Chris Cristy (the before poster boy for Weight Watchers) swears it won't happen on his watch.

Actually, Christy has called for a referendum.

Actually, Christie has said he will veto the gay marriage bill, which has passed the NJ Senate and is expected to pass the House. They have 2 years to override the veto. 54% of New Jersey voters say they want the law, and 40% say they do not.
Christie is taking the position most likely to help him if he runs for President in 2016, not the position that represents the will of the people of New Jersey.
(Not that we should be voting on civil rights anyway, but until the Supreme Court tells the states they can no longer discriminate, this is what we're stuck with.)

In plain speak, more people, every year and in every state, do not agree with legalized discrimination and are working to correct this issue.

Where I am not gay, I support others in society to have the same benefits that my wife and I enjoy.
