"Schwing!" Costco: Canon 5D back in stock
#11
Even at this "low" price, I still say Canon is price gouging for it. I don't believe that the sensor is costing them anywhere near $1500 over that of the aps-c one in the Rebel mdls. Nothing like a lack of direct competition. Maybe Sony will change the game next year.

My gut feeling is that a camera like that should sell at discount for maybe $1700 or less (just as it always seemed that entry aps-c bodies should sell for around 500, which now they do). If Sony and/or Samsung start producing a FF sensor, watch these cameras get to a Much more reasonable price by Xmas '07.

I could never really justify that kind of outlay for that camera. My "professional" needs are fairly modest. The 30D is a great value and is way more than enough for most people. Not to mention the 350D or Nikon D70s and D50. I mostly use a D70 and it works great. I do feel that Olympus is the most daring of the bunch these days.
