MBA-- case flex-- anyone?
#1
My 11" 2011 MBA has very recently started to give off a light 'click' when the case is flexed (which happens frequently with normal handling.)
Do I have a prayer of Apple doing something about this if I make a genius appointment?
I only have 19 cycles on the battery.... if they replaced it, would it be a fresh battery?
I have very little experience with Apple Care claims, thankfully.

It is a grounding pin making contact with the bottom of the case. Are all the screws tight on the bottom?

It is way more common in the MacBook Pro computers than the Airs.

Not sure there is really anything you can do about it if the case is on tight other than try reseating it.

Thanks, C. I can't tell what I need for these screws but I don't seem to have either a Torx or a Phillips tiny enough to turn any of them. Are there more under the big black "feet?"

And wouldn't you know it-- I have no less than 3 Torx 6 drivers on hand, but no Torx 5. On my way to Menard's for something else... we'll see.

Bought a T5 at Menard's. Doesn't fit any of the screws. I can't see well enough to determine why but assuming it's a hair too big. Or maybe they changed them since the 2010 in the above video...?

It's hard for me to figure out looking at some online videos, but it does seem like your MacBook Air uses some pentalobe screws. Not sure about this, but this link might help you figure it out. And it tells you how to buy a pentalobe driver. LyleH

Thank you for this. Just ordered the tool. Hope it's one size fits all.
(Don't do it, Newt.)
