Bought new iPad 2 3G from MacMall
#1
I bought the white 64gb Verizon 3G model for $470.

Seemed like a good deal. Brand new for less than apple's refurb price.

The retina display on the iPad 3 is awesome. I just couldn't justify spending the extra $$ for an ipad 3 w/3G.

This iPad will likely replace my Dell Mini 9 hackintosh for casual web browsing, email, etc. and take it with me on trips where wifi isn't always available.

The retina display is what put me over the top to buy an iPad 3. And I couldn't get it out of my wife's hands, so I just ordered her a refurbed iPad 3 from Apple. Both black/Verizon. Hers is 32 Gig (with a pink cover) and mine is 64 Gig. And when my daughter saw mine in April of this year she bought one, too. LyleH

I pre-ordered the 3 for the display and I'm glad I did.

Every time I picked up the 2, the difference in resolution practically jumped out at me. A buddy was going to by an iPad for his wife so I said "Take my 2. Please".

I'm glad you got the iPad you wanted, MA. A new 'Pad for less that Apple wants for a refurb is a good deal. No tax for you, right?

I just did the exact same thing. After playing with a friend's iPad 3 for a few days, I went with an iPad 2. In my case, the performance benchmarks of the iPad 3 are not better for CPU based operations, so I decided to buy the 2 and wait for the quad core CPU (A6?).

No tax buying from MacMall. Gotta save as much as I can these days.

And I just returned my iPad 2 today. After the annoucement of the iPad mini, I thought I would wait and see. the big thing was the new iPad with the A6. I was looking for better CPU performance. So we will wait.
