iPhone 5 and iOS6.1 and audiobooks

I just purchased an audio book, guess it is a AA file mp3.

It is working in audiobooks on my iMac. Now I simply want to copy it to my iPhone.

I click on the audio book icon, select the arrow and "add to" then it says devices (my iphone) and playlists.

When I select any of these (my iphone or one of my playlist) nothing happens.

Can't be this hard to copy over a simple audio file to my iPhone.

Anyone have any thoughts?

do you have the box checked to "manually manage music" etc?

Yes I did check that box, but it just will not copy over.
