So if you were on this jury...

What cbelt3 and $tevie said. What appears in the newspapers and news sites is generally sensationalized in order to sell news and often poorly reflects what actually happened. Anybody who's sat on a jury knows that there's very little latitude to inject your own feelings into the verdict. Your job as a juror is to decide the case based on the evidence presented and the laws applicable to the evidence, NOT to make decisions based on a defendant's personal circumstances.

I'm so glad you guys pointed out that important information, because otherwise I was afraid our anonymous internet opinions and comments about an attorney's public statement might send somebody to jail.

You asked what we would do if we were on the jury. Short answer: how the hell do we know since we are not on the jury?

I think he's joking about the pile-on.

Next time I will include a disclaimer:
"You are not a real juror in this case, in fact, you probably don't even live in the jurisdiction where this case will be tried. Nothing printed here should be confused with actual facts of the case, and nothing you say here on the forum will be used against you or anyone else in a court of law, so feel free to express an opinion, or not, it's all good."

I did express an opinion. You just didn't like it is what this is about.
