As I type this I am shopping for 2012 Home & Business. I HATE having to buy this every year. I don't know where to get it for free.

Just saw that earlier today. Not that Intuit really needed much to get added to my Don't Give Them Any Money Ever Again List.

And I realize the broader Silicon Valley computer sector is somehow "threatened" by this, but Intuit really gets the prize here for spreading the FUD far-and-wide.

I suppose there's a silver lining if the state where Intuit and Silicon Valley are both located, actually has the ability to do just what they've so far killed at the federal level.

It's a pre-filled tax return. Wouldn't this only work for people who file the short return? How could the government know what deductions one was planning to take? I would agree that it should be allowed but I doubt that it will be usedul to anyone other than 1040A or 1040EZ users.

My thought as well.

You would think in that case, Republicans would be wildly endorsing it.

They can't because then it would appear that they were enabling the Evil Tax Man.
