That's nice to see, and what borders *should* look like rather than the current political ideal:

I never really thought it was, it was just the right juxtaposition for the moment.

Unfortunately, things too often are not as nice as the happening in the picture (which is great, love the picture):

Why are U.S. Border Patrol agents shooting into Mexico and killing innocent civilians?

Thanks for your link Ted. Growing up in Southern California I am often dismayed by the aggressive mistreatment of Latino's. If Mexico and the US could do more to eradicate the gang and drug warfare in Mexico I think we would have a safer border situation.

Sure it is more complex, but I think starting at the crux of the problem including no tolerance for corruption in Mexico would make our borders safer.

Naturally proper training and protocols need to be established and the realization that even when people are properly trained stuff happens.

I think both countries can and should do more.

I lived in Mexico for over a month in 1967 I met some very friendly and kind people.
They took care of me when I was sick. They gave me medicine and rides when I hitchhiked out of the Yucatan jungles.

I am greatly saddened by these unnecessary deaths.
