Actually, I'm not sure all of them don't, but the ~$1k ones (inFocus, etc.) don't have cable input (at least the ones I'm familiar with). I guess they would need to beef up the speakers on them, too, but it would be cool to have an infocus projector that was plug/play with your cable setup (and had an audio-out capability, too, to hook up normal speakers!). Granted, it isn't too hard to plug into a VCR/DVD player and then output it to an inFocus, but I still think it seems like one more unneeded step.

Yeah, yeah -- I understand that. Tuners can't be that expensive, esp. compared to the cost of a $1000 inFocus projector (I mean, they're standard on DVD players that go for $39).

just a tiny tiny percent of owners would want to add a tuner to a DLP.

If your only source is. an already tuned coax cable (older VCR output) you can convert it to RCA--but you get video only---you would have to source the audion from another source

Now that I think about it, I was mistaken -- my DVD/VCR combo has a tuner built in, but I guess generic DVD players don't. When I borrow a projector from work to show movies at home on the "big screen", I feed it from my VCR/DVD to the projector, and I get the sound through my stereo (which works fine, but I just figured it would be nice to be able to bypass the DVD/VCR. I guess no one agrees.

If I can get a tuner inside a WHOLE TV for $10 on sale, yeah, a tuner can't cost much. I'd like to have a tuner on my new Optoma. That's a great, simple, OBVIOUS feature.
Just like I'd like to have a TV Tuner on my car's built-in DVD player. Hey, I'd like to get some tv signals, not JUST re-runs on DVDs.
