I replaced my old G5 the other day with an old G5..same machine..sick, I know.
So, I took all the memory out of my old box and installed it in the new G5..all 8 slots.
I was careful to install properly, in pairs in like spots across the 2 groups of sockets.
System profiler is telling me that 2 slots are empty...they have chips in em.
I re tested the memory in the so called "blank slots" in slots that were showing as filled..swapping around and it is recognized in other slots, as well as in my old machine.
I know G5's have a reputation for this but Im wondering if there is a fix??
tried zapping the Pram but that's not even what zapping does..it's just cool.
