hard drive case?
#1
I have a 500gb external usb drive but the case connector went bad. Drive is fine. Is it worth putting into a new case or is it just as cheap to buy a new one? Recommendations on a case? Thanks.

Ever consider a dock? I have several and they work great when I want to grab something off an old drive (I keep all my old drives as I buy larger capacity).

Someone here suggested plastic VHS cases to store old bare drives. I trimmed the plastic nubs down on a few and they work great.

there are plenty of $10-$20 usb-only cases that should work well for you. Search newegg or amazon for ideas.

I've been using docking setups for a while for backups and find it works great for simpler rotation of clone drives. FWIW, I use these cases from Cyberguys (they stack): http://www.cyberguys.com/product-search/...+drive+box

I have a dock and it does work great. I'd like to keep the drive mobile though for carting files around.
