At least that's what everyone around me says they think it is.
It's irritating. Pun intended

I had one a few weeks ago. Doctor Janie said to apply heat to it, and that worked. I used a wet washcloth, which I put in closable sandwich bag, and microwaved it for 15 seconds. That way you don't get water all over the place. You could also use a corner of an electric heating pad.

Thanks, Dr. er I mean mrlynn, that's what others have said too, so that's the way I'm going to go. Majority rules.

I get them quite a bit, because of a skin condition. Dr. said hot compresses are the best thing, and I also have some antibiotic ointment, but the hot compresses, about three times a day, will get rid of it pretty quickly. Also, it is a good idea to wash the lid and lashes very thoroughly, after the compress, with something like baby shampoo or non stinging cleanser.

i went to a doctor twice before figuring out the warm compress thing. you can either go with a washcloth or a warm compress from the drug store.
