Baghdad has fallen! 11 years of democracy/nation-building begins!

Thank you for the statuette. This time I feel it, and I can't deny the fact that you like me, right now, you like me! -G.W.Bush

April 9, 2003: Baghdad fell to US forces; Saddam Hussein statue toppled as Iraqis turn on symbols of their former leader, pulling down the statue and tearing it to pieces.

See, that turned out well.

Before invading, always have an exit strategy.

Of course Vlad's strategy is to never exit. If we had just gone into Iraq Russian style.... to 'preserve the rights of the Christian minority' and then moved the rest of the population to Wyoming to work in the mines, we would not have had these problems. There would be McDonalds on every corner, white picket fences, and none of those troublesome Islamic type people to bother things.

I remember watching the Baghdad Cam before and during the invasion. It was a popular topic on the old DM forum.

Well, here's one story about how Iraq is making "love" not war...

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnew...riage.html

"Children in Iraq could be legally married before the age of nine under sweeping legislation tabled on Tuesday that introduces new religious restrictions on women's rights.
As almost its last act before elections at the end of the month, the Iraqi parliament looks likely to pass new marital rules for its majority Shia community with a draft law criticised by human rights activists as "legalised inquality""

You really have a hard on for Putin, cbelt.
I am just wondering what did Putin have to do with our Iraqi fiasco?

Just to put it perspective, compare your strawman to Bush/Obama's Iraqi salt mines, here are some numbers....

https://www.iraqbodycount.org/
Documented civilian deaths from violence
122,524 – 136,179

Total violent deaths including combatants
188,000

http://guardianlv.com/2014/03/crimea-death-toll-five/
To date the death toll in Crimea since Russian forces have occupied the peninsula is five.

Maybe they'll double it, you will be fully justified to to call for carpet bombing.....

You really have to stop bringing up Libya, Speedy, the only war in Middle East where Bush got oil.

The plan was for the oil but Pres. Bush's plans were rarely well thought out, even when VP Cheney was running things..
