Re: ChumpUSA closeouts and a 2.7GHz G5 for $1700
#1
Went down to my local CUSA to pick up some extra iPod docks for $10/pop after the tip from Jp!

http://forums.macresource.com/read/1/149318

Turns out they were all iPod Photo docks, but seem to work just fine for audio out for my 4th Gen iPod 40GB, which is what I really wanted them for.

While I was there, I saw they had a dual 2.7GHz machine for $1,700! That's $1,100 off the original price and so tempting - considering they're still going for more than $2,000 on ebay. I'm tempted to buy it, make sure it works (it was the display model) by putting it through it's paces for a little while, and selling it on ebay for a small profit. Seems like that model, along with the quad 2.5 G5, and possibly even dual 2.5, will hold their value farily well for some time.

Keep in mind that listing it on ebay will be $35+ in ebay fees, $40+ in paypal fees. (Assuming you have a premier or higher account).

Not quite so much fun when you consider that crap.

Please don't bring that up unless you are going to tell us the rest of the story!
