I've searched Apple's help communities but haven't found an answer. When I have some text to underline in the new Pages 5.2 I click on the underline icon in the text format sidebar. The text always comes out underlined in blue. I want it to be black like the text it is underlining. I can't find any way to change the underlain color in Pages. Pages help menu is no help at all and the communities have nothing on the new version either.
Anyone here have some experience that can lend a hand. This is driving me crazy. Taking way too much time for something that shouldn't be happening in the first place.

Is it a hyperlink, email or web address?

It's none of the above. I simply typed some text and then underlined it. The underline is blue (like a hyperlink) but there is no hyperlink.

You got me thinking though. The text looked something like this:
This is an experiment: underline this text
it was one line of text with a colon in it and no other punctuation.
When I clicked the underline it underlined in blue. I then did a right click on the selected text and clicked on "link" (in the contextual menu that appeared) and then "remove". The underline went from blue to black. Is there something about the construction of that text that might have led Pages to think it was a link of some kind?

Go to Format-Fonts-Show Fonts. There you can pick colors for underline as well as other attributes.

Thanks Greyhouse- that did it. I never would have found that one on my own.
