Anyone have a 3D printer that's in the "under $500, and doesn't suck too bad, and has Mac Software" category?

I'm still very curious and interested in 3D printers... but not quite ready to take the plunge, since for me it would be a toy/hobby, and probably not make me any money.

I'm wondering if there ARE any "under $500-ish" 3D printers, that doesn't suck too bad, and that I can run from my iMac (24" C2D, 10.6.8)?

If you have experiences with one, I'd appreciate learning a little!

I'm off to do some more Googling!

Are you planning on making articulated lobster claws, and turning Max into a battle cat? You'd still need a laser helmet.

Well, I WASN'T until you mentioned it...
That could be cool, once I get used to bleeding. Putting clothes/armor/battlegear on a cat is not without its hazards!

Yes, and from the look on the cats face, the photographer died from wounds received seconds later....

These guys are all Mac. They spoke at our user goup. Great story, and well priced printers.
