My favorite Dead joke:

Q: What did one Deadhead say to the other when the drugs wore off?
A: "Dude... this music SUCKS!"

A little uptight, huh?
A lot "not a fan of pointless noodling." Well, 20 years have gone by-- maybe they'll finally getthe message that nobody likes the jams and just stick to the studio versions. Maybe it will help their career.
Interesting comment, because overall their studio albums (with the exception of 1987's In the Dark) never really did well commercially. They were more a band to see live. I'm not sure who you are referring to by "nobody." The active fan community that still listen to live recordings would certainly disagree.

I'm pretty sure Black's being facetious. So long as I don't have to listen to it, to each their own...

I'm sorry, but without Jerry, it's the "Grateful Dead".

I was going to ask if I could crash on his couch, but after that comment, plus the fact that his place may not be very safe these days, I changed my mind. ;-)

In my book, Jerry WAS the Grateful Dead.

I loved their music, but the shows were shows in themselves, especially some of the New Year's Eve ones.

I thought it was a hoot seeing 16 YO deadheads at shows in the 80s.

I think the only studio album that was anywhere near successful was "Workingman's Dead" and even that one had six live tracks on it.
