Screen Sharing Problem: Need Advice
#1
Friends,

Trying to share the screen of a Mavericks iMac on my Yosemite iMac.

I turned on Screen Sharing on the Mav machine, and I can "see" that machine in the Finder sidebar, but when trying to connect, I can't get past the "connecting to..." screen.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

A user on the remote end has to accept your screen sharing request. Do you have that?

Attempting to connect over a weak wifi signal would look like that...

UPDATE: Just turned off the Firewall on the Mav machine, and voila, it connected.

Now, is there a way to get this to work with the Firewall back on?

Many thanks for your replies.

They need to be on the same wifi network. I have 2 wifi networks in my house. one is 5GHZ & the other is 2.4GHz. I cannot screen share with my wife's Mac mini unless we are on the same wifi network.

Firewall (& Stealth mode) is on for both Macs.
