#1
had no idea that Dell/HP were selling such low cost, cheap laptops - can't imagine how horrible they must be... but the price is right...

Dell 14.1" Dual Core Laptop

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory: 4GB
Display: 14.1" Screen
Storage Drive: 160GB Hard Drive
Optical Drive: DVDROM
Operating System: Windows 7
Model: Dell Refurbished Latitude E6400

and it's... beautiful!

I had to look it up in google - C2D P8400 is a 2.26GHz -WOW! Does is have video out? WiFi? USB? Who knows?

If I only had two options, I'd go with the Dell, just because it has a faster intel processor. As for video out, the e6400 has both VGA and a Displayport (DisplayPort to HDMI adapter required for HDMI out). Wifi is built in on most of those e6400's if not, the internal wi-fi cards are under $10 shipped on ebay. It also has 4 USB 2.0 ports. eSata port attached to one of the USB ports and wait for it an............................. iEEE - 1394 port.

I have its upgraded brother the e6410 with i5 processor for a while now. Still running strong.

The e6400 is sold out.

That Dell is like five or six models old. I have a Latitude 6430 and that model is from 2012. not sure about the HP. Looks newer, but entry level to me.

Dell sold me my Latitude with an Ivy Bridge i5, Intel Integrated GPU, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, extended 9 cell battery, and Windows 7 Pro for just over $300. The former model in the your post is a horrible deal, the latter might be tolerable for light use.
