"Urban Farms" mean... city factories that are meant to put real farmers out of business for high profit specialty foodstuffs. Ever drive north to Toronto ? Along the way you'll see a large collection of hydroponic based greenhouses that supply Toronto with fresh veg during the long Canadian winter. Same idea.

I do get the feeling that this is what most 'urban farmers' are like..

When's the last time a "real farmer" went out of business because of competition from expensive, organically grown, targeted-upscale-customer crops?

Well... my Mom isn't doing too well with her small specialty organic farm. Then again, it's more of a hobby than anything. She is 80, after all.
