LCD Native Resolutions...How Important?
#11
<> the resolutions supported are only those resolutions supported for the current monitor.
There is often a tab to show <> supported resolutions (even though they might not work with the screen currently connected).

Yeah, the GeForce 4MX should support the usual widescreen resolutions no problemo.

The misunderstanding was inevitable since the title was badly crafted.

I disagree about misunderstanding the question.

The mismatch of LCD monitor and video card resolutions directly affects LCD resolutions.

You answered is question with "Yes", and I said "It depends".

And I say, if the artifacts of mismatching a card aren't important to IronMac, then "Yes" is not applicable.

With a CRT, there's a lot of choice if the preferred resolution isn't available. Usually, the displays geometry adjustments can provide an acceptable compromise. Some folks may not choose to compromise.

With an LCD, there are far fewer options, and all of them non-native. Some people don't mind, most do.

It's all a situation.
