My son was hired by EMC as a hardware engineer fresh out of college three years ago. He sent me a pic today of the new Dell/EMC sign in front of the building. I told him as long as he's still employed there, it's all cool!

Where I used to work, they have had at least 6 different names. Checks still cashed. All that matters.

EMC is Big Data Storage. Hundreds of Terabytes up to Petabytes upon Petabytes. My sister talked about working with their R&D arm, which helped with some of the storage requirements at CERN.

They big news is that the merger was finalized yesterday. Dell is trying to out-IBM IBM.
