I wonder if a withdrawal from the ticket would actually bolster Pence's standing for a future run? Normally quitting would doom him, but this election is anything but normal. By disassociating himself with Trump, he would be able to say he placed decency and standards higher than politics (BS I know, but this election also shows that voters are not deep thinkers).

The October surprise may just be the GOP en masse sabotaging the GOP Nominee. It would be an interesting strategy that might pay off down ticket and in future elections (then again it may not, essentially a huge dice roll).
