‘The Mummy’ Trailer: Watch The Franchise Rise From The Grave
....From the mists of ancient times – cinematically speaking of course – the first trailer for Universal’s reboot of The Mummy has dropped like a bag of hammers taped to explosives owned by an archaeologist, and you can watch it here now.
First take? I have no idea if looks like a proper Mummy film, but it definitely looks like a proper action film. And who better to lead it than a contender for the greatest living action star? That’s Tom Cruise of course, in full-on Mission Impossible mode here, first seen in an honestly awesome scene aboard a crashing airplane (I can’t wait to learn how much of that isn’t just CGI), during which he appears to die, is resurrected in a morgue, and then, while a somber Russell Crowe explains how dire the situation is, runs, and runs, through what looks like a very endangered London.
The tagline says it all: “Welcome to the new world of Gods and Monsters”. The Mummy is of course the first installment of what the studio intends as a fully relaunched Universal Monsters Cinematic Universe. Directed by Alex Kurtzman and written by Jon Spaihts, The Mummy stars Tom Cruise, Annabelle Wallis, Sofia Boutella, Jake Johnson, Courtney B. Vance and Russell Crowe.

See Baby Groot speak in a brand new trailer for ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’
....017 is going to be another exceptionally busy year for Marvel Studios, and it all begins with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in May. We got our first glimpse of the sequel back in October, but over the weekend, Marvel shared the first full-length teaser for the movie, full of all the action and music you’ve come to expect.
While the teaser is chock full of great moments, Baby Groot unsurprisingly steals the show. To be honest, I’m not sure Rocket really thought it through when he entrusted an atomic bomb to a tiny sentient plant, but what do I know:
just a teaser for the 2nd movie.............?!
Luke Cage Renewed for Season 2
.....Marvel’s Luke Cage has been renewed for Season 2, Netflix announced Sunday via the show’s Twitter handle.
The short video announcement features Pop’s Barber Shop, with a sign that reads, “Season 2 coming soon.”
Starring Mike Colter, Luke Cage details the evolution of its titular hero after he has relocated to Harlem and is in the process of picking up the pieces following his failed relationship with Jessica Jones. Having been endowed by a failed experiment with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke is pulled out of the shadows to fight a battle for the heart of his city – forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.
Luke Cage is the third series, after Daredevil and Jessica Jones, in Netflix’s Marvel lineup. Next in queue at the streaming service will be Marvel’s Iron Fist, followed by the eight-episode Marvel’s The Defenders team-up event.
