McAfee Antivirus Rant
#1
I just spent about 2 hours trying to determine why I couldn't initialize a new hard drive I just installed in my Dell Inspiron 15 7567 Gaming Laptop. The drive passed all test with Seatools (Seagate Tools for Windows), but couldn't be formatted. The problem was McAffee Antivirus was interfering with the disk initialization. Once I temporarily disabled the active antivirus checking for 30 minutes, and rebooted - I was able to format the hard drive.

Hopefully this info is helpful to fellow forum users.

That's 2 hours I'll never get back...

10 years ago I would have said you got what you deserved for using Winblows' software. But now the Mac OS and its software is just as likely to bite you.

McAfee was preventing my nephews laptop from getting on the net. Piece of crap. Reset windows 10 and deleted that crap again. It came with the original install so it reinstalled after the reset.
