Why am I always the one to find weird, lost pets?
#1
Last winter it was a turtle... Last fall, I found Troll Kitty and managed to get her back where she belonged, but this one is gonna be hard...

I found a lost pigeon today. Yes... a pigeon. Today I placed an ad for a found pigeon.

UGH! There was all kinds of odd noises on my porch today - I go out there to see my little Sweetie, Stinky and Nicky all on the tiny porch together. That doesn't happen often - Sweetie is afraid of Nicky, Nicky is afraid of Stinky, etc... but they are all out there with 100% focus on a pigeon that was bouncing around on my awnings, deck rail and roof and there were 6 eye balls following every move.

I could tell right away that this wasn't a wild bird. He had no fear of me until I got within arms reach and I saw that he had a tag on his leg. AND he looked lost and confused.

It didn't take much to coax him into a bird cage borrowed from my bird-loving downstairs neighbors. They agreed to take him in for the night and might even have a friend that is wanting a pigeon.

He's a nice bird... Mostly black and white with a sheen of green and purple... he LIKED being in the cage. FINALLY he could eat in peace without cats constantly trying to get at him.

You must send out some sort of vibe that critters pick up on, Dr Doolittle!

Pigeons are pretty cool birds, with amazing visual acuity.

PIgeons can usually find their way home if they are in good health - maybe feed him up well and then let him go?
