Well now, Filemaker just raised their price from $329 to $540

Well, actually they simply got rid of Filemaker Pro, and they only sell Filemaker Pro Advanced now.

Same difference

I remember when you could get a perpetual Filemaker Pro license for about $100...

I've done a lot of great things with Filemaker, but nothing recently. I've purchased 4 or 5 versions over the years—all several years apart so never eligible for an upgrade. I'm on v12 right now which I believe is 32bit. Guess I'll wean myself off of the few things I use it for and keep an El Cap boot drive around in case I really need it somewhere down the road.

I use FileMaker for quite a bit, less since I am retired. But the last version I have is 9 and that will stop working soon.

There's got to be a better solution...Bento was it but no more.

My needs:

• Enter info on one form
• Able to create input fields like checkboxes or dropdowns etc
• Produce columned reports using some of the fields
• Able to produce a variety of label or form letter things

Flat file is fine...I don't need web capability, iOS app or relational features. Anybody try Ninox?

For what it’s worth, Bento works fine for me on Sierra. I don’t use all its capabilities however.
