Julian really stepped in it.

Purely a rookie move, based on him reading too many reports of Biden being old and of how that's inherently a "problem."

Would have been nice however to see a retort like, "If you're going to attack me with veiled ageism at least get your topic facts straight first."

Thing is, Julian knew it was a cheap shot, it seems like he was eager to find a chance to use it, and he didn't even pick a good gotcha moment. It was amateurish and cheap, and made him look rude and foolish.

I thought Biden handled it perfectly. He stuck to the point being discussed, didn't take the ageist bait, and let Julian hang out there with his insult, the crowd clearly unhappy and bothered by it.

The DNC learned from the RNC in 2016. They need to keep the field crowded to distract from Bernie, at least until he makes some 'unforgivable' flub, where they subsequently demand he withdraw from the race.

If Hillary had sounded as hoarse as Bernie the pundits would be diagnosing her with throat cancer.
He's been on the campaign trail for more than 5 years, you should sound so good at his age. Maybe by then your political thought process will have progressed as well.
No, white man's privilege. Dont pretend like she wasn't slammed for that very kind of thing. If Warren, Harris or Klobuchar spoke that way it would lead the conversation.

Julian carries an unfortunate surname … he'd never run Florida (that's for sure)…

If he can get Texas, he doesn't need Florida.
