Mattis roasts Trump at Gala
#1
It's a short video on the BBC, but well worth a minute of your time as former Defense Secretary and retired General Jim Mattis mocks Trump.

It should be worth a few tweets this morning.

I’d feel better if he took his former boss’s many transgressions and poor judgement seriously enough to publicly fight back with more than just milquetoast jokes that come off as, “gosh, glad I’m not there anymore.”

That especially would be honorable public service. Because everyone who remains (such as American voters) are still in the battle, General.

He's an honorable man who took his vow of confidence seriously.

But his conscience will come back and have him tell all. Will it be BEFORE the 2020 election?

We don't have time for tell-all interviews or books or other self-serving "Gosh, I thought I could really do some good" crap. He needs to be testifying in front of Congress about anything relevant. Now.

I don't think it's a "roast" if the target isn't present.

As I recall everyone thought it a riot when Obama took Trump apart at the Correspondence Dinner. It gives wonks something to chatter about, voters don't notice.

No one has asked him to testify - it's not his fault.

Who asked these (other) career officials who left to testify? They quit, signaled their willingness to talk, and did so. Mattis and many more have done Step 1 and then gone home. "Thanks?"
