Got this today going to a site via a Google link:
----------
----------
I've been using that site with a direct link for a long time with no observed effect. I haven't seen this before; at first it seems a good idea, but it sure could give Google a lot of "discretion" in directing users to "friendly or unfriendly" sites.
Wonder if it has any relevance for Mac users, or anyone?

Lyrics sites are notorious for their shady practices.
Mostly numerous pop-up ads, but I imagine some PC malware is possible as well.
They exist completely outside the law as it is -- not a single one of them has permission to publish lyrics from the songwriters' reps -- so I guess they might as well break as many laws as they can while they're at it.
If you want, you can change your 'phishing' prefs in your FireFox prefs if you feel Google is going to do something untoward.

I'd figure you'd like to clear that up, unless you're the only person who ever visits your site.

you've got a good point but i've visited my site in Firefox from a number of different computers and i've never been able to reproduce the event. i guess that's why i haven't worried about it. my site has a reasonable amount of traffic; about 15% of the traffic uses FF. given the nature of my business, someone would have alerted me about it by now if it was truly an issue. i think...

Thanks for some feedback - looks like I'm not the only one that's seen this, but it seems like a pretty rare occurrence. Not to worry, I think, especially since I'm not using Windows.
