Amazon Amex offer
#1
Amazon has a $40 off $100 on items sold and shipped by Amazon. You need to activate the offer and use at least 1 Amex reward point towards the purchase. Doing so, will net you a $40 credit towards the purchase. It's a limited time offer and capped number of total uses.

Was that on the Amazon site or Amex site? I don't see it on either.

It is a targeted offer. You probably need to be an AMEX Rewards member.

The way I read it is that you must use points to pay for at least one item in your order.

In the offering page presented to me, the top row contained six very specific items that I had bought quite recently at Whole Foods. a couple of them just two days ago.

Sorry forgot to include the link from Slickdeals: Amazon Amex rewards

Edit: I didn't need to buy any specific item. It just needs to be Sold and Shipped by Amazon. You must use some Amex points

I've tried to use an Amex/Amazon offer twice this past week and both times it didn't work. YMMV.
