I have a friend who inherited a couple acres on a Sonoma mountainside when we worked together several years ago. I tried like heck to convince him to do a prefab vacation/retirement home on the land. Will dig up his email and send him the video! (tu)

I mostly like it. But whenever I see a situation like that grade change, I think they made a big mistake by not building into the hillside, and making it partially a subterranean abode. Cost is obviously not an object here.
