Thursday Fun Fun Fun
#1
from an age not our own

Well, she got her daddy's car
And she cruised to the hamburger stand, now
Seems she forgot all about the library
Like she told her old man, now
And with the radio blasting
Goes cruising just as fast as she can now

[Chorus]
And she'll have fun, fun, fun till her daddy takes the T-bird away
(Fun, fun, fun, 'till her daddy takes the T-bird away)

[Verse 2]
Well, the girls can't stand her
'Cause she walks, looks and drives like an Ace, now
(You walk like an ace now, you walk like an ace)
She makes the Indy 500 look like a Roman chariot race, now
(You look like an ace now, you look like an ace)
A lot of guys try to catch her
But she leads them on a wild goose chase, now

[Chorus]
And she'll have fun, fun, fun till her daddy takes the T-bird away
(Fun, fun, fun, 'till her daddy takes the T-bird away)

[Verse 3]
Well, you knew all along
That your dad was getting wise to you, now
(You shouldn't have lied now, you shouldn't have lied)
And since he took your set of keys
You've been thinking that your fun is all through, now
(You shouldn't have lied now, you shouldn't have lied)
But you can come along with me
'Cause we've got a lot of things to do, now
(You shouldn't have lied now, you shouldn't have lied)

[Chorus]
And we'll have fun, fun, fun now that daddy took the T-bird away
(Fun, fun, fun, now her daddy took the T-bird away)
And we'll have fun, fun, fun now that daddy took the T-bird away
(Fun, fun, fun, now her daddy took the T-bird away)

[Outro]
Wooo-ooo-Aaaah!
(Fun, fun, now her daddy took the T-bird away)
(Fun, fun, now her daddy took the T-bird away)
Wooo-ooo-Aaaah!
(Fun, fun, now her daddy took the T-bird away)
(Fun, fun, now her daddy took the T-bird away)
Wooo-ooo-Aaaah!
(Fun, fun, now her daddy took the T-bird away)
(Fun, fun, now her daddy took the T-bird away)

The Little Old Lady From Pasadena (LIVE!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYxPgFUjDpA
Jan Berry

It's the little old lady from Pasadena
The little old lady from Pasadena
(Go, Granny, go, Granny, go Granny go)
Has a pretty little flower bed of white gardenias
(Go, Granny, go, Granny, go Granny go)
But parked in a rickety old garage
Is a brand new, shiny red Super Stock Dodge

[Chorus]
And everybody's saying that there's nobody meaner
Than the little old lady from Pasadena
(She drives real fast and she drives real hard)
She's the terror of Colorado Boulevard
It's the little old lady from Pasadena

If you see her on the street don't try to choose her
(Go, Granny, go, Granny, go Granny go)
You might drive a goer but you'll never lose her
(Go, Granny, go, Granny, go Granny go)
Well, she's gonna get a ticket now sooner or later
'Cause she can't keep her foot off the accelerator

[Chorus]

Go, Granny, go, Granny, go Granny go
Go, Granny, go, Granny, go Granny go
The guys come to race her for miles around
But she'll give 'em a length and then she'll shut 'em down

[Chorus]

Go, Granny, go, Granny, go Granny go
Go, Granny, go, Granny, go Granny go
Go, Granny, go, Granny, go Granny go
Go, Granny, go, Granny, go Granny go
Go, Granny, go, Granny, go Granny go
Go, Granny, go, Granny, go Granny go

Edited to add: I'm nearly 100% certain neither of these Thunderbirds are the one the Beach Boys were singing about because neither one had been produced when the song was released, but nonetheless two of my favorites-

1966

1969

(It's next to impossible to find a photo of a '69 Thunderbird that isn't A. A four-door, B. A "Town Landau" with the super-sized blind spot, or C. Besmirched by the addition of the cheapest, tackiest, aftermarket wheels the owner could find down at Klem's Kustom Kar Audio & Rims. This was the very best of a bad lot.)

For 1969 I like the 4 door a little better. On the coupes, the long doors make it hard to get out of in tight parking lots. After they pass 1966, the only coupe I liked better was the late 80's turbo.

IMHO clueless, "Fog of War" Bob McNamera killed the Thunderbird in 1958. From that point on it was just a meaningless nameplate.
