I think Warren is on the list just to keep the party happy. A 70-year-old white woman is not what the ticket needs. The whole I'm a Native American thing would become a major destruction.
Demings is doing fundraising rallies in Florida (outside Miami). That is new just since she has been vetted. But she has some serious name recognition issues - even in Florida.
Grisham -- I know nothing of her and would bet that is closer to the norm for most voters. That may or may not be a bad thing (same with Demings)
Rice will have to overcome the whole Benghazi attack (again). Iy's BS, but the type of BS that can stick.
I would have put Harris as the shoe in just a few weeks ago (and still may), but prosecutors are targets now. It isn't just the Republicans that you have to worry about, it is now not turning away the minorities upset with the legal system regardless of the candidate's race.
How things shake out in Atlanta during the next few weeks will dictate Bottoms future. I have some concerns about her being ready for the big job, but so far I like what I'm seeing her do. She would definitely be the outside pick and that can generate excitement. She is the opposite of Biden in many ways (Biden - old, white, male, Northerner, Washington insider; Bottoms - young, African-American, female, Southern, no Washington connection) and that is usually what the ticket needs.
I'm happy to have Abrams out of the picture. She was not prepared for the top job, and her open campaigning for the job bothered me. She has a future, but not this time.
If I had to rank them right now from most likely to least likely. I will say the first two are really close and I could reverse them in the next five minutes --
Bottoms
Harris
Rice
Demings
Grisham
Warren

Biden wants “simpatico.” OK but what does that mean?
He’ll also pick someone who doesn’t outshine him, because they all tend to do that. I think that’s a mistake of assuming the top person isn’t “commanding.”

I don't see Biden as having excessive hubris in worrying about being second fiddle. He talked about wanting to have Obama's ear and being the "last person in the room" for big decisions. So, I think he'll extend that courtesy to his pick as well.
