We never did watch season 3 or 4. I'd love to finish it. Lost those seasons when lightning got our DVR.

Every season is better than the last. Some of it feels like a brilliant stage-play on the order of David Mamet at his best.

Moving the story out of Texas also helped as the seasons progressed.

It caught my attention at first because of the setting. Hearing the dial-up modems go through the handshake routine really lit up dormant circuits in my brain. But after the first season it really became about character development and their relationships with each other. I don't recall any other series where the writers went so deeply into the psyche of the characters. Likely a different experience to binge watch than to wait for a week between episodes?

Scoot McNairy and Kerry Bishe (Gordon and Donna) were also a married couple in the movie Argo before they were cast for HaCF. I hadn't seen Argo until after I had been watching HaCF and was surprised to see both of them together in that movie.

I got a few eps into the 2nd season, which I thought paled the 1st, and moved on.
The best part became the opening sequence.
