The real issue is that teachers seem to be getting drunk on field trips sponsored by the school. Is that acceptable behavior?
Don't be surprised when drunk teachers take advantage of students then.

The first one's divorce was finalized the day before, and she had been drinking. I can believe that she would do something like that at that time, when she wouldn't at any other time.
My question is, is his kind of behavior more common than when we were in school 20-30 years ago? I never heard about this stuff when I was in school, or in college.

I would venture to guess that in regard to female teachers and male students...it was just not as big a deal (and so either it didn't leak out or no one talked about it).

At one time years ago, news like this just wasn't picked up by the press, and PDepts. out of respect for the affected families, kept it quiet. They basially can't keep things quiet any more, so once it's out , it's out.
