Live in MN, SD, VA or WY? Time to vote!

I missed that this was the first day to vote in MN. I placed a request for a vote by mail, and that worked for the primary. But it's still not here.

Given the Biden lead today - which recent polls has even 49% to 48% in whites in the US - we are seeing the inevitable mess of early votes and the day-of voting potentially being different outcomes.

Interesting initial info here:

I believe today was the first day when ballots were being sent out. I expect to receive ours in the next few days. I’m pretty confident the postal carriers will see to it that we get ballots quickly.

I'm voting in-person on Tuesday.

I just checked the status of my absentee ballot. It was issued yesterday, so I should receive it probably next week. We will then hand deliver it to the drop box. It also will let me check to see when it is received back at the county, which I will be checking on, too.

In the old days, the absentee ballots were counted first, so that total was the first released. It generally favored Republicans because they were more likely to be on a European vacation or whatever. Then the Election Day votes would gradually dribble in, and overtake the original tally.

So I wonder why we are supposed to be concerned about the fact that different voter cohorts will be counted at different times and that the lead may change from time to time -- other than all the speculation that Trump and his cronies will make excuses and pretend that the election is being stolen when in fact Trump will be 5 or 6 points down by the time the ballots are all counted. The counter claim, that Democratic ballots will be lost or disqualified because the post office didn't deliver them in time is more credible, and something we ought to be taking care about.

The scary part about the current President is he's setting up for the stage whereby he sends in military troops to 'defend' his Nov 3 election-night 'win' and block the counting of ALL subsequent mail-in ballots.

Yes, this is EXACTLY what a Banana Republic dictator would do. But you think he's any different?

Trumpers were demonstrating in front of and blocking access to a Virginia voting site earlier today. Not sure if the local cops ever showed up.

We need to get the U.N. involved and get election monitors here.
