Offsite backup question (again)
#1
For those of you who are doing offsite backups, how are you ensuring the privacy and security of your files? I have several sites and plenty of offsite space, but I'm not sure I'd be comfortable uploading my Quicken accounts, client invoices, etc. to a site where I don't physically have access (and someone else does).

I guess the same question applies to backups to .mac space on Apple's servers. Unnecessary paranoia or legitimate concern?

Depends on the data. Encrypting it is one way.

Care to go into a tad more detail? With so many folks here touting the virtues of off-site backups, I can be the only one concerned.

You could PGP encrypt the files. You could make disk images that are encrypted, put your files in there, then upload those.

What is an "off site" back up?. You mean .mac kind? I personally need gigabytes of storage that no one seems to have.
