I've got a cable modem (from RCN) connected to a D-Link RangeBooster G™ Wireless Router (WBR-2310) which is connected to my G5 running 10.4.8. Also connected is a Brother Laser printer, and there a couple of laptops in the house which access wirelessly.
My problem is this:
Every so often (quite often, actually), I will get a message that I'm not connected to the internet, and when I look at the router, it appears that all 4 ports are connected (even if there are only 2, which is generally the case).
At that point, the only solution is to disconnect the power to the router, leave it off for 3-5 minutes or so, and plug it back in. Everything goes back to its correct state, with the router showing 2 ports connected, until the next time it happens.
Is there a setting I'm missing? I tried calling RCN, but they tell me to disconnect the router and the modem, wait a few minutes, plug it back in, and try again. That's exactly what I do without calling them, but I'd like to stop doing it. And as soon as I tell them it works, they're off the phone like lightning.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Pete
