Interesting. I have Ad-Block enabled in my browsers and I never see ads on youtube on my desktop. I do see them on my phone and ipad which is a bit of a shock as i tend to forget they exist.
anyone subscribing to YouTube Music or Youtube Premium?

If this happens, I have to refresh the page to get the video to start playing On iOS and iPadOS, like you said, I have to wait for the YouTube provided skip ads button Lastly, we watch a lot of YouTube on our Apple TVs and, AFAIK, there’s no way to block ads on that platform - have to either sit through the ads or wait fro the ‘skip ads’ button to surface after x number of seconds

I started out on Google Play Music back in in 2011 (?). They offered to allow you to upload 50,000 of your songs for free with the song matching feature. You could also buy songs on their platform. They had a Pandora like radio feature as well.
Then, they created YouTube Red with removed ads from videos and tossed in the full Google Play Music streaming platform. A bargain for $10 bucks a month. Then they decided to evolve from Google Play Music to YouTube Music. It took them a long time to evolve. They finally forced you to transfer your music from GPM to YTM last Fall. I was very reluctant to do so because I'd become used to GPM. I've come to really enjoy Youtube Music. You can have it play the song or a video of the song, which is cool. You can easily download music. The only thing missing, for me is my play counts, which Google Play Music inherited from iTunes. Google Play Music was set up to monitor iTunes and whatever music I added would be transferred to Google Play Music seamlessly. It doesn't do that anymore that I know of. You have to add it yourself to YouTube Music. No biggie it turns out. All in all, I like the service.
