Adobe: "More Robust" Photoshop Elements 2022

https://petapixel.com/2021/10/07/adobe-a...ents-2022/

Adobe has unveiled the latest version of Adobe Photoshop Elements 2022, which utilizes its Sensei AI technology to do all the heavy lifting — just like the previous version — and introduces new tools, like moving overlays, artistic photo effects, easy object selection and removal, and more.

Adobe Photoshop Elements caters to novice and enthusiast photographers who want to easily apply creative and personalized touches to their images, without having to learn complex retouching workflows.

In the latest upgrade, Adobe has further developed tools for moving photos. Users can now add moving overlays like snowflakes and sparkles and animated frames. The image can then be saved in the newly added MP4 or GIF format to share on socials.

hey you LR/PS expert users:

i have a question:

does photoshop elements employ the same catalog structure as adobe bridge/adobe lightroom?

if my images were in a photoshop elements catalog, could i seamlessly upgrade to lightroom classic and keep the same catalog of images?

thanks in advance.

Bridge has no catalog. It's a file-browser/manager. It uses the Mac file-system to determine hierarchy and writes metadata directly to each file.

The structures of the Elements catalog and the LR catalog are very different and are not interchangeable.

Adobe did provide an import tool in LR. A catalog from a recent version of Elements may be imported into LR "Classic" with minimal data-loss.

...I'm not sure whether the online version of LR can do the import.

I'm having a hard time finding out if it's M1 native. I guess I should assume it's not.

Still lists Intel 6th gen cpu compatible. I am guessing not M1 native.

Sarcany-

Thank you for a thoughtful and detailed response.

Thumbs up.
