Being a half-glass full type, I'm not particularly cynical.

But in this case, I wouldn't be surprised one bit.

I've yet to give anything five stars, though fours aren't uncommon, so I haven't been thanked by Alexa.

But my Inbox gets a lot of emails from AMZ letting me know that someone has found a review helpful.

I haven't felt encouraged to write more reviews, and I don't write them for anywhere near every purchase.

That would be a full time job.

I'm confident an attaboy from Alexa wouldn't encourage me to give five star when I felt four or less was appropriate.

But I can well imagine there are a lot of people who would be swayed by a 'Thank you' for flipping over all the cards and giving a fiver.

In my experience, every single last stinking product on Amazon is rated 4 1/2 stars. Talk about coincidences!
