plea_se don't eat the daisies?!.....former Trump CFO, Allen H. Weisselberg, reaches plea deal....

He's refusing to cooperate with the Trump investigation, and will likely serve 100 days of a five month sentence. He'll be a convicted felon, that may be the worst of it for him.

This is the second Trump related prosecution the new Manhattan DA has borked unless the NY AG uses a grand jury that could subpoena Weisselberg's testimony. NY law also gives grand jury witnesses transactional immunity, meaning immunity for anything they testify about . . . except if they lie.

I don’t understand what Bragg is doing here (or maybe I do, unfortunately). Weisselberg gets a much-reduced sentence, and the DA and people of NY get…nothing in return.

Weisselberg won’t cooperate with the DA’s office - he has refused to even meet with them. You might do this in a weak case, but this case doesn’t look weak at all to me.

For whatever reason, Bragg appears to be trying to protect Trump & co.

I still have no idea why Cy Vance chose to not seek re-election.
