NH GOP primary voters choose MAGAts for the general
#1
What could possibly go wrong?

At 25, Karoline Leavitt could become the youngest woman ever elected to Congress after winning the Republican primary in New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional District.

Democratic Rep. Chris Pappas currently represents the district…and will compete against Leavitt for a second term in November.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA) endorsed Leavitt’s opponent, former Trump advisor Matt Mowers, and a super PAC aligned with McCarthy spent heavily late in the primary campaign to boost him.

Leavitt courted the MAGA wing of the party, previously spreading former President Donald Trump’s false claims about the 2020 election being stolen. Other Leavitt backers included Rep. Jim Jordan (OH), Sen. Ted Cruz (TX), Sen. Mike Lee (UT), outgoing Rep. Madison Cawthorn (NC), former Defense Department Chief of Staff Kash Patel

Keep draining those coffers, boys, we have even more loony candidates to run in staid NH:

NYT:

Don Bolduc, a retired Army general and 2020 election denier, appears to have captured the Republican nomination for Senate in New Hampshire after his chief rival conceded early Wednesday.

… [Bolduc’s GOP opponent] was endorsed by Gov. Chris Sununu [R] and helped by $4.5 million from national Republicans, who were worried that a victory by Mr. Bolduc would forfeit what they saw as a winnable seat in the quest for Senate control this fall.

Mr. Bolduc’s apparent victory will come as a relief to Democrats…

I signed a letter with 120 other generals and admirals saying that Donald Trump won the election and, damn it, I stand by” it, Mr. Bolduc said…

Thank God the average Republican primary voter is soooo nutty.

Bolduc won by 1500 votes or 1/10 percent. Polls had him with a double-digit lead.

...and in Boise Idaho an 18-year old high school student ousted an incumbent school committee member, a member who refused to disavow the endorsement of a radical right wing "ban the books" group.

Bolduc last month:

“I signed a letter with 120 other generals and admirals saying Trump won the election, and damn it, I stand by [it],”

Bolduc yesterday, the day after he won the Republican primary:

Asked Thursday on Fox News about the 2020 race, Bolduc… said he’s “done a lot of research on this” and, after speaking with New Hampshire voters, was changing his position.

“I’ve come to the conclusion, and I want to be definitive on this: The election was not stolen,” Bolduc said, adding that while he still believes there was fraud, “Elections have consequences and, unfortunately, President Biden is the legitimate president of this country.”

I’m surprised he’s not in a neck brace after that whiplash.

Shows he knows how to read the room, NH isn't Wyoming.
