Every few minutes my monitor turns off even though my new mini is setup to "never". Is there anything more I can do? BTW it's a Dell U2723QE UltraSharp.

Turns off or goes to sleep? Doesn't matter as I have no answer either way.
Energy saver?

The screen goes completely black but hitting the space bar wakes it back up. So maybe off was the wrong wording as I don't have to hit the power button.

seems like a Mac issue, not a Monitor issue.
Check your Energy Saver settings in System Preferences.

Yeah, if you have trouble with your energy saver settings, it might be helpful to post screen shots.

There is a chance a different monitor cable will fix it.

Mine was doing the same thing. I haven't figured out why.

Energy Saver allows for never turning the monitor off.
Check your screen saver settings. They range from one minute to an hour, with no way to turn it off in Preferences.

The monitor might have its own energy saving settings that might have gone wonky. I have one monitor (out of 3) that likes to randomly go into its own energy saving mode while I'm actively working. I just set that monitor to never go into its energy saving mode to see if that makes a difference (it was previously set to 8 hours, so it was obviously ignoring that). I believe it will still go into energy saving mode when the computer does so (I just made the setting change yesterday).
