I had to do the job twice. First time there was leak. And when I went to see why I could tell the gasket or thermostat must have shifted as it had cut into the gasket.
So cleaned surfaces and said I don't want to do this again. So bought the Blue Permatex RTV, and used it. All is good and nothing leaks. And now my temp gauge on this 95 Jeep goes up to temp instead of staying at 100 degrees. (Old thermostat must have been stuck open).
Now the question: Not only did I use the Blue RTV, but also used the gasket. Now I am told by some, that the heat of expansion may after time cause the gasket to change thickness compared to the RTV.
This car can be my local daily driver, for just local trips.
What say you on having RTV on both sides of the gasket. No leak...Best part.
Also, been using those cheap $5 door actuators from Amazon, tho fix the Auto Door Locks. They work great, and are easier than buying and replacing the actual Actuator built into the door.
