Fitness trackers . . .?
#1
Hello all!

My beloved Misfit Shine tracker is heading to end of life by Apr. 1. It has been a LONG while since I've had to shop this out.

Reasons I REALLY like it is small/non-bluetooth/wrist AND clip.

I know the non-bluetooth will not be really findable as tech has progressed way past that. The only time I wear it on my wrist is when I'm home/sitting, so it doesn't think I'm asleep. I prefer to NOT wear it on my wrist. Even working out, I prefer a clip.

Been looking at many reviews of all different types of devices. While Fitbit has some models that "could" work, there have been enough complaints of accuracy/battery/customer support/skin issues (which could be something for me) that I'm trying to figure out what to do.

Apple watch is possible, but not really needed for my limited use (steps/sleep). I'm having a difficult time finding a non-wrist way to use it. There is one clip for Apple watch on Etsy, but quite expensive. Another option is a silicone holder that pins on. Not as practical for my uses.

Since I'm also watching my budget, I don't want to spend more than I have to, but also know that cheap isn't always better.

Anyone here use Fitbit?
Anyone here found other ways to wear an Apple watch?
Any other recommendations?

Many thanks!

I have a Fitbit Inspire 2 and it works pretty well at steps counted and calories burned, heart rate. it has been a little wonky lately with the sleep information. Once in a while it will tell me I can't get detailed info on my sleep patterns that night because it couldn't get a consistent heart rate. I do have atrial fibrillation and that could cause the problem, but I know when it's happening and it usually lasts a whole day and not just a few hours at night. Also if you are very still and have a low heartrate for a period of time, the device interprets that as sleep. I often sit and read in front of the computer and find out later that the Fitbit credited me with an hour's sleep during that time. For the most part it seems to work well, just those hiccups once in a while.

I use a Fitbit and have it in a clip holder. I think it is the Inspire.
Other than the funky charger that I ALWAYS have to futz around with to get it to charge, I like it.
I find it more accurate for steps than my AW, because I wear it on a chain around my neck so it doesn’t rely on arm swings, like the AW. AW doesn’t count my steps if I have my arms on the handle of a cart in a store, for instance.

I had high hopes for Fitbit, but their quality just wasn't up to snuff. The original Fitbit that was just a little bean that you wore on a zipper or on a bracelet was good, but everything after that fell short for me. The hardware kept failing on me. If it was supposed to be waterproof, it leaked. If it was supposed to be rugged it fell apart. I wasn't impressed. The Apple watch has been a better solution for me.

Fitbit Inspire 2 in a 3rd party silicone belt clip. The app our company uses to track activity for a health insurance discount requires an activity tracker to get maximum daily "points" and it fulfills that need. On the belt clip it's essentially a step counter/activity time tracker...if you want anything fancier like heart rate etc. you have to wear it on a wristband. Like rgG noted there is a configuration setting to tell it if it's on-arm or on-clip.
